inner skin quality

For a '69 GT, what is the quality (aluminum type) of the inner skins? Are they alclad? I would like to consider the use of inner skin pieces that I don't intend to replace in their original location for exterior patches and other small projects. Which side would be better to use; the white primed side or the exposed side with vinyl fabric? How hard would it be to remove the white primer? The vinyl fabric?

Thanks,
John

I have heard 2nds or blems were used for the inner skin because finish imperfections would not be seen. I have seen vintage coaches with the interior stripped and polished that looked just fine. I had a 60 Avion that I stripped the iterior and polished it and there did seem to be a few finish imperfections but no big deal.
