We just got back late Sunday. We had a great time--there were too many high points from our visit to mention. We'll be back, hopefully with trailer in tow!
The New Orleans unit is starting up the Mardi Gras Rally which Katrina had ended if you are interested let me know and I will put you in contact with the local club.

I hope you made it to the JazzFest on friday, and not muddfest on Saturday. If you do go to the Jazzfest the rule is always go on the first nice day as rain will always fall one of the days, my wife was there on Friday.

The only Arrows in New Orleans were carried by the Mardi Gras Indians at Jazzfest.

An arrow ..... a good story to be told somewhere there...

Maybe Hensley or Custer or Harrold or Isaac Newton
none of the roll of the tongue though...

Six years ago we owned a storage facility 90 miles from our home and that's where we stored our MH over the Winter. That Spring we went down to get it and when I got home I noticed a huge hole in the right rear cornor. I had been the beneficiery of a shotgun slug. It was spent and only penetrated the outside layer and was in between the walls. Had to have the entire panel replaced at a healthy price.
The Insurance Company asked if I reported it to the police. I asked which county they prefered I report it to. I had passed through four.

after, I cut a circle and attached it with vulcum and olympic rivits.

I got her last year from Cambridge Ohio. Hello, Land-O-Lakes unit.
You might want to carry a roll of aluminum tape in case this happens again...

Yes, we did go to Sog-Fest (oops, I mean Jazz Fest) on Saturday! It was our only opportunity and despite the vast quantities of rain, we had a great time. I heard a lot of Katrina jokes as the tent we were in started flooding--to about 1' in some parts. However, some folks just danced in the puddles! I pulled up my legs and sat cross legged!

Unfortunately, as long as keep this job, Mardi Gras is probably out of possibility--I think it coincides with our legislative session here. However, Jazz Fest is a likely definite: Rick and I are next year's trip organizers!

Shot with an arrow?

I'm sorry to read about your problem. But here might be a possible explanation.... Henery Wadsworth Longfellow, the great poet, confesses his ignorance about ballistics and trajectories, saying: 'I shot an arrow into the air, where it fell I know not where.' Well now we know where it fell, I'm suprised that it stayed in the air for that long.

Nice job but I would have left the arrow sticking out. Something to really talk about at a rally!

My Airstream is also the proud owner of a circular patch ... In my case, the PO used an aluminum tag from inside the furnace (which he removed and parted out). I think it's a "cool" touch:

I don't have a clue what caused the hole, though ... I have a few suspect dings on it that look like my Globetrotter may have been used for BB target practice, though. Character marks, I say.

That's HOT.. haha! Polish it up! IT'll look cool! My 'Trotter project has a "51" on the front. They were those black and white mailbox letters, but to my surprise, once I stripped them, they polished up like a mirror. Very cool! Now people think it's a '51. ha!

The "HOT" patch IS polished now, along with the rest of the trailer, so it looks a lot nicer than the photo I posted ... It never fails to elicit a comment or question when we're out and about, even though it's fairly low to the ground (on the front curbside corner, about a foot under the fresh-water filler cap).

The last place we lived-
I woke one morning and saw a strange fleck on the hall wall. Closer inspection revealed it was a hole and an even closer inspection revealed it went all the wall through the to the back yard! By prying the insulation out of the way and peeking through the opening...
I could see the back door of my inlaws home .

Seems an errant critter had woke the paw-in-law and he attempted to 'resolve' the problem...
