Start wherever you can get the plunger to get suction. I think you will be surprised at how easily it pops out.

I was just at Harbor Freight and found some small suction cups with handles. I think somone earlier in the thread mentions them, and they would be nice for pulling out the dents. You get the suction without having to push the plunger into the trailer. You may want to look into them as well.

Take some pictures as I would love to see the before and after.

I haven't used a plunger on aluminum but it usually works on car bodies. My dent will be much harder to repair. A contractor backed his backhoe into it then turned and drug the bucket across 2 panels. I just hand polished it and left it alone. Sure hurts my pride everytime I see it but will have to live with it. (65 Caravel) It is still great fun to camp in and my wife and I love it. I just finished hand polishing the entire trailer and it looks great.

The purpose of the dry ice is to shrink the metal. I don't think that you can be certain that your dent has stretched the aluminum. On a flat door it's obvious that any dent has stretched the metal. The time to try the ice would be after you have pushed out the dent.

Well we are off to the A/S again for the weekend.We might try to pop out some of the dent. We looked inside and decided that theres not enough time in the day to tear up all that is involved to get at the dent from the inside.But we will see.The crappie are up and bitting good and when that happens...well...all that gets done is fishin and grinnin.We did get the frig repaired.New brain and cooling unit.That put a dent in the beer money..=)

Rubyslipper, you make me laugh! We were just like you with our hanging-down ceiling in Gypsy. For over two years we looked and thought and procrastinated until one day I decided that if I put a screw into and through the ceiling and out the other side (yikes!) well, so I did. With that care-not attitude firmly in hand, I gathered 5/8th inch selftapping screws and cordless drill, plotted a grid over the ceiling of my living and bedroom areas with droopy ceiling and let-er-rip. My only thought now is why I waited so long! Really, you'll be amazed once you get to the task at how you can work it out. Get ready, get set, now. . .plunge away! ~G

We are bad! Again we sat and looked up at the dent and sat and looked and even had friends over who also just sat and looked with us.The brother from California came down and so the brothers just sat and looked. Much talk about the correct plan of attack on the dent went on through out the weekend. In the end...all that happened was we bought a golf cart to cruz the RV park in.The dent is still there but dang dont we look good in that black golf cart now!!!!
