How many pop rivets?

Certainly this has been covered before, but is there a way to figure out how many pop rivets are needed to put the interior skins back together? My AS is 26 feet. I know they are cheap, but I don't want to under or over buy.
Thanks!

Counting comes to mind....I guess you could measure the number of rivets in a foot, measure the seams and do the math.

You can get the proper size and composition of pop rivets at your local big box store--just make sure they have aluminum mandrels. You might try buying a hundred, and then get them in smaller boxes of 25 or 50 as you see how fast you are consuming them.

Beware that most big box stores (as well as most local hardware stores) do not sell pop rivets with aluminum mandrels. The mandrels in most of these commonly available aluminum pop rivets are usually steel. I've found aluminum mandrel pop rivets at Vintage Trailer Supply.

Ace hardware carries aluminum rivets with aluminum mandrels. Seems to me we went through over 300 rivets to put all the interior skins back into Little Girl. I know I kept buying boxes of 100 each time, but I never really counted how many boxes we went through. Fortunately, they are not all that expensive. And if you buy too many boxes, Ace will take unopened boxes back. I bet VTS would too, which is another source I use often.

Fastenall is also a great source for the good rivets.

Ditto, I got my last batch from Fastenall. How many you need? Count them. Buy more than you need for this one job. You will use them eventually. I used a dozen today. Glad I had them, not really worth the drive to buy that few.

My 17 footer took 1000. I know this because I bought bulk rivets online (an eBay store, I think) in several sizes. The bag of 1000 was 1/8" x 1/4" and bought specifically to re-install the interior skins. I used them all...

I've bought aluminum mandrel rivets from Lowes, Home Depot, Ace, Do-It_Rite, Granger, etc. You just have to be careful that you are getting what you think you are.

Go to Harbor freight and buy one of their pneumatic rivet guns. Speeds the process tremendously and saves your hands from squeezing the pop rivet tool a thousand times.
3/16" Air Hydraulic Riveter
You will be glad you have it, I promise.

Yes this is a must when doing large amounts of rivets , I think this tool cinches up the rivet tighter than doing it by hand , I couldn't be without mine
