Hey any airstream techs need your help with EST of damage..

I dont why I didnt think of this before ...ANY of you Airstream tech if you could give me a ruff ball estimate to how much it would cost to fix some front and rear end skin damage and front vent fan and awning (awning is bent pretty good ) Need new fan becasue it leaked on to turn screew to open vent and rusted solid ..and the fan it self is done. here are some pics of skin..

Ouch! If I am understanding you, you pretty much have a whole roof caved in. Your photo is pretty large, I would suggest reducing the image size and posting three photos, front back and middle so that we can see the whole of the damage. Do you have insurance I hope?

Well it turns out worse than that just behind the midd cabin vent is a hole in skin about fist size and it turns out after removing all of the tarp that the tree had slammed the awning and put major bend in it. and scratched the front left side next to front window . I have video of roof now just need to make there files smaller to post on Youtube.

Suggestion for metal worker

I got an estimate from a local guy to redo all the front panels of my Bambi II. The price was around $2000. This guy does beautiful work. I just had him make me 3 access doors, fix my main door hinge, fabricate the bottom section of the door frame and straighten a few dents for less than $400!!! I'll try to get some pictures up of his work. He's had tons of expereince refurbishing old cars, motorcylces even airplanes. It's worth giving him a call. He's located in Alexander, NY. Installed, properly sealed and plasticoated.

Those are approximate prices, depending on the shops labor rate.

Labor per segment is 6 hours.

You have several thousands of dollars in damage to the exterior.

I would look on the inside for additional damage as well.

Your insurance company may choose to call your Airstream a "constructive total loss."

Dammit not what I wanted to hear.

Ok guys this trailer I want to keep If I were to remove the awning and maybe do the front myself and have the rear and the hole on top repaired.

What would we talking in cost?

If you really want to keep the trailer, find a good repairperson that won't mind you watching and asking a lot of questions. Stay with them, and see how it is done, and any tips they can give you. I would suggest letting them do the hardest segments. Also, if you are looking to save money, you may be able to find a donor coach for the parts and pieces, many will fit from different lengths and years. Take the segments off the donor coach first, so you don't mess up yours any more than it is. This will also give you practice for your segment removal.
Remember, it's going to be a lot of work. If I had to guess, I would say at least $2000 for replacing the difficult segments, plus however much you can get used segments for in the other areas, plus odds and ends like imperial rivets, Vulkem, drill bits, rivet shaver, bandaids, and alcohol.
Maybe Andy can add to my list, I've been fortunate enough to not need to do this to any of our coaches.

Also, taking segments from one trailer with the hope of installing them on another trailer, is a very seldom accomplishment.

Why?

Front and rear end shells were assembled in a jig. Also they are held together with vulkem sealer as well as rivets, which make them difficult to take apart, without damaging the segment.

Pictures of Access Doors and Metal Work

Here are the pics I promised of the access doors I had custom made by George Diehl in Western NY. The first pic is of him and if you look closely you can see where he fabricated the entryway for us (bottom of the door frame metal piece the folds up over the floor). The other pics are the 3 access doors front, back and side views.
