“Hail” Dent Repair

I noticed a large dent after a hail storm in Colorado. Not sure if it was truly hail related or not, my brother the car guy says no way, but noticed right after the hail storm. A dent professional was able to remove the dent within minutes for $20, happy to see it so easily repaired and thought I’d show the before and after.

We are thinking about going to Colorado next June and are wondering what the hail season is there and what we can expect.

Silverwind, anything from nothing to huge. Any time from April to October. Can be horrible where you are but 100 yards away can be nothing. Have lived just east of Colorado Springs for 4 years. Visit and enjoy, because it's a crap shoot as far as I can tell.

Airstream hail dents are tough to repair. Aluminum stretches when dented and doesn't like to get bent back the way it was. I've tried sun's heat, dry ice, glue tabs all to no avail. Removing interior skins and rolling the dent may help it some.

We live at 8300 feet and have only seen pea sized hail here that wouldn't hurt an Airstream. But watch out along the I-25 corridor. We've seen some 2" hail in Golden.

Sorry, this is kind of a repost, I think a mod deleted the old one because I posted in the wrong thread. I was in Palisade (Western Slope) full-timing for 3 months, I witnessed two hail storms while there. I actually have a video if there were a way to post it, but here’s a screen cap. I would say pea to nickel size hail, but it was coming down hard.

I am back in Kentucky now where the family owns a car/rv/street rod...anything goes shop and the $20 may have been a nice family discount from the specialty dent guy we use. If ever in Kentucky I’ll get you a deal though,
P & P is the name of our shop and we remove dents the old fashion ways, but use specialty dent services on some jobs 502-543-3915. This is family owned, I grew up in the business, but work a white collar job these days.Click image for larger version
