Hail damage

We have recently received hail damage on our airstream. Any suggestions? Any way we can deal with minor damage ourselves?

Too bad about your hail damage. Have you talked to your insurance company? The only thing I can think of is one of the paint less dent repair shops but they will need access to the backside of the dents, other than that it panel replacement.
Good luck
Mike

I have read on this forum that much of the hail damage that happens on surfaces not subject to compound curves comes out on its own through time and heat cycles.

Is it true? I don't know.

Hail damage to the segments will not go away.

However, the same hail damage to the side and roof sheets, in time, will disappear.

Leave the trailer in the hot sun during this summer and watch the dents slowly go away.

How do I know.

I took care of over 1000 hail damages losses when I worked for the old insurance division of Airstream.

The segments should be replaced, by the insurance company, and the damage to the long panels should be on as "loss of value" basis.

Andy

It has been my observation that small hail dents in Airstream flat panels do indeed diminish with time and heat, but if they are large, you will always be able to see them.

Dents in the compound curved caps will never go away without panel replacement. In the Dallas/Ft Worth area, North Dallas RV is capable doing this kind of work.

Good luck with your insurance company and repair.
