The poll at the beginning of this thread leaves something to be desired. I wish there was the option to vote for: "Have it, I care and take the appropriate measures."

It is also disappointing that so far, there are only 20 votes out of 551 views of this thread!

More on Filiform corrosion and the appropriate protective measures I take are seen here: Filiform corrosion.

Hi, I didn't vote either. Choice number two is close, except for the ending "who cares?"

d,
Thanks!
Did you hear a big sigh of relief coming from my direction?

I don't have a problem with corrosion yet, but I use the products proactively too, just to make sure it stays away.

Lets fix the poll

"The poll at the beginning of this thread leaves something to be desired. I wish there was the option to vote for: "Have it, I care and take the appropriate measures."

So let fix the poll so more people can and will vote. I am not sure how this could be done, but will sure try. If you know how to change the poll let me know and I will change to desired poll questions. Tell me what poll questions you think would be more affective. Thanks so far for for all the information. You all have given me a lot to think about and different ways to view living with Filiform.

I really need to change my vote. While doing some body work yesterday, I found 4 spots below the center beltline molding. Corrosion-X attack! I can't complain I guess, 6 years old.

El Stinkaroonie!!!!

Living in Canada is nice......except you often have to deal with this!!
Boeshield Canada

So I get onto the Corrosion X site as an alternative, and the only dealers are in Alberta.

Edit: Found one place on Vancouver Island!

This poll is starting to sound more like a social disease.

In that case, my selection still stands: Lucky, don't have it or want it.

Does a full polish on bare aluminum alleviate the need for touchups on the clear coat to prevent this corrosion?
If so,
need another box to check on the poll

I was going to check the "If I have it, I've been too busy tearing apart my trailer to fix the frame to notice" box, but didn't find that either...

Rivet Filiform Corrison

I have it , but not too bad. I wish to treat it, but a chemist I am not. There are a host of Web sites that describe it, but few recommendations for treating it. When I first noticed it, I thought it was mud splatters but found out otherwise. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

hm', read the thread I have linked. I know it is a little long, but you'll know every theory and treatment imaginable. Robert Cross has a pretty good handle on it.

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f142...ams-31743.html

You don't have to be a chemist, but you do have to exercise some judgment and be willing to carefully go through the steps to solve it and keep at it, or move to a desert far from salt air and road salt.
