EAA - Metal Fab and riveting classes

I don't own an AS yet, but have been spending a lot of time here looking things over and thought I'd offer this. A few years ago I was considering building an AL airplane kit. I joined the Experimental Aircraft Assoc. they offer seminars on many topics related to building and maintaining an airplane. I took their sheet metal fabrication class. In it you build a section of an airfoil with an assortment of riveting methods. If you will be riveting your AS this is absolutely worth doing if there is a class in your area.

I'm curious as to what psi they recommend for the air powered rivet gun. I keep putting smiles on my rivets. Thanks, JT

Smiley faces on rivets mean that they are happy rivets. Just kidding, smiley faces are generally caused by: 1) the rivet set not square to the rivet head 2) overshooting the rivet which generally looks more like a smear 3) incorrect rivet set for the rivet head style being shot. I use 100 to 125 psi
