Drilling rivets

I found a countersunk bit that is much better -for me- in drilling out rivets

There in no ring left on the bit like a straight bit and it is easier to center

Looks good, but how do you keep it from enlarging the rivet hole?

If I stop when the head spins off it does not enlarge it

Most folks find it much safer to remove rivets using either a #11 or #30 size drillbit (depending on the rivet size, of course). One of these days, you may find you have some extra-big holes in the skin.

You can centre the drill by giving the rivet a tap with a fine-tipped punch first.

But, it's your trailer, we're only giving you our thoughts.
