door holdback rivets?

I bought a new door holdback, if that's what it's called, for my 69 GT, to replace the rusty and partially missing holdback. I thought I would simply put it on with olympic rivets that I've been using. But.... I see now that the little catch that is on the actual door is riveted in the lip of the door so I need something short. What can I use here? I haven't used any buck rivets since my trailer isn't an empty shell.
