Dent Repair

On my last trip, I backed in to a short post in the ground & put a deep dent on the A/S. This dent is right beside the rear bumper on the street side. Its not a very big piece, but curvers around the corner & down under the TT. Andy from Inland said I would need to get a new piece & he was right about that. I called the A/S dealer in Los Banos CA & asked about getting this repaired. The service mgr said they had a man in the area that made those parts. He said it takes the guy about 3 hours to make. That was a surprise. Any way on my next trip down that way, I'm going to stop by to get it repaired.

Jim. Please let us know as well of who can make Airstream stretch formed aluminum parts for an Airstream. If that's the case, he will put Airstream out of the sheet metal parts replacement business.Andy

This didn't seem right to me either. I did see on TV a guy in L.A. that makes custom gas tanks for Harley motorcycles with a hammer & a couple of other hand tools, so I guess you never know. I"ll post what I find out. It will probably be quite a while before I get down there to check it out.
