Unhappy Da RITZ gets It GOOD!! How much will this cost!!

Well, It goo's something like this!!!! I was coming out of Atlantic beach west looking at two storm fronts coming to gather right in front of me. The emergence radio said to look out for golf ball size hail. I got off the interstate to run north. All was good but the country road I was traveling started to turn in to streams and then in to a river!!! I was stopped by a lawman, who told me I HAD to pull up in to a farmers field and sit out the flooded roads. I told him my rig and trail might get high cantered on the hill. Now this is SC. and I'm from the North, LOL!!! He said, If I did not do it, he would do it for me, Now there where 12 cars be hind me that would have had water on the floor boards!!! So, I made the 90 degree turn and started up the hill the back of the truck hit the trailer!! I'm in 4 wheel low as the bottom of the truck hit the top of the hill. I new this would not end nicely!!! Well all 6 wheels of the trailer came off the ground, she made the turn on the bumper and the ball at one time I was just praying she would pivot around a car that had stop in my path on the top of the hill!!! Well, the count is something like this on the in side 12 screws 34 rivets one major leak rear street side window valiance came right off the wall on one end. Cupboards over sink pulled away from the skin and ribs. Interior skin pulled away from ribs over door. The entry door is now hard to pull shut from the inside!!! All that in less then 5 min. Out side, I will get to that later, still trying to work some thing's out with The Mother Ship JC. DIMMER

YOWSA! That sounds like a nightmare! Maybe in hind sight let the Po Po do it and take pics while he wrecks your trailer? I'm not sure there's any possible better scenario... I hope it heals quickly and inexpensively.

I would have told it can not be done and that I was not going to tear up my camper and asked for another resolve, then if the officer did get in and take it up there and tear it up I would have the position of they just bought a new AS for me and they get the old one to use for the dept.

Holy Crap...I hope the frame isn't damaged from the apparent twisting and flexing....Not sure how one would check the frame without taking the body off...

I'm sorry to see this, as after seeing your trailer first hand and what great shape it was in, it's gut wrenching to see your baby bruised up.

How'd the estimate at JC and P&S come out? Insurance working with you on this?

Karma to you for the pain and suffering...

JC, can't give me answer on the aluminum segments (4 in all) till next week. It's looking to be around $7,000.00 to $8,000.00. I have been told there is no way to check the frame. Keven who looked at my trailer said he would not do a alignment That's NOT going to FLY So, I talked to Chris Burch the Service Advisor. Great Guy, he add a alignment to the estimate I need to have him add two more Items to the list today. So some time next week I will have a answer on the aluminum segment DIMMER

It's not the estimate. It has to do with the fact that I had PS polish my trailer!!!!!! Steve at PS tells me they need the new segments to be in UV light for a year on the top segments and two years for lower segments. This Is due to the clear coat Alcoa Is putting on the Aluminum for Airstream. It must be some good stuff!!! That's great for new trailers. So I have a Idea but cant get a answer on It right now. If It would work, It won't cost JC a cent, If I have done my home work!!!

PS. Steve at PS trailers said they have even tried a torch to burn the new coating off, to no avail!!! That's some tuff ****!!!! GOOD JOOB JC.

Ohhh Nooo!

Keep your chin up! Good thing you know your way around JC . So sorry that this puts a damper on your "summer" travel. Where are you sleeping while repairs are being done? I seem to remember you mentioned another Airstream in your collection? Sure would be better than a Hotel. Hope your beautiful shiny "home" is good as new quickly.
