don't quote me,

but some of the original bucked rivets are hidden and remain intact, so it's the surface rivets that are the issue.

the overlaid panels (in that lower section) aren't exactly like the originals...

so they are attached over them and each layer of skin provides some structural integrity...

that's my lame understanding of the lower front sections...

except for the bondo layer that is used too...

hey since u are there for so many days, take a day trip over to new bremen, about 25 miles straight west.

the bicycle museum there is WORLD CLASS, and the erie canal is there, along with some nicer spots to eat...

are there any new shirts or must have trinkets in the a/s store?

Thanks for all the cool pics. JC is a good visit. We drove by the plant for many years on the way to Celina and then all of a sudden we got the bug to buy one! Took the plant tour last August and were Streaming by October. Speaking of all us Buckeyes. Has anyone noticed the Michigan Wolverine flag flying inside the plant? It's back in the area where the assembled panels meet up with the chassis. Is it still flying from the rafters? Please tell me it isn't so!

Next week we're do for service, so I'll be taking them a Buckeye flag to fly in the Ohio plant..http://www.airforums.com/forums/images/icons/icon7.gif Shake and bake!

Hi Tom,

Thanks for the pointers.. We ate at Spot yesterday, Prim and us each had a burger, onion rings, and I had a malt while she had a cream soda, topped with one slice of cream pie and one slice of custard pie... after that gut busting dinner, we went back to the hotel and passed out.... Not sure if it was the food, the stress of the week, or combination...

Today we went took the girls to Tawawa Park, and walk a darn long time - its 192 acres!!! HUGE park for any city, let alone the size of Sidney!!

We tried to eat at Hussey's, but they are only open for dinner, so we headed back to Sidney

We ate at the In Good Taste Cafe, where we each and a sandwich. Prim had to have their coffee, and I had to have a beer. Note to others: They have LOTS of beer selection and LOTS of wine selection... There is outside seating so the girls chilled out next to us under the table... Great place to eat and drink. Heavy emphasis on drink...

Jackson Center has a their annual Community Days going on this weekend...Way cool small town festival - petting zoo, rides, food, bands, and a Car Bike and Truck Show in the Airstream Parking lot...

Here' Dimmer talking to me.. That's his huge Red truck he uses to carry his Jeep Rock Crawler and tow is 34' footer all at the same time...

That is a fairly new establishment...never been there. As a kid, that was my dentist office. If you listen carefully you can probably still hear the cries of small children. :-0

As I looked across the street from the Car& Truck show, look was peeking out in the lot....The Pan America..

I did notice the 16" wheels... I forgot to snap a pic of the axle wheel rating sticker, but I'll try to get that later tonight or tomorrow...

I am really enjoying your write-up!

We were there last year for the tour and stayed a couple of days. The guys at JC are fantastic!

We had a fantastic dinner across the main road from the Shell? station in a Victorian house. I think they are open Thursday - Sunday. The name of the place is the Veranda. I would drive at least 100 miles out of my way to dine there.

You may want to try it for a more "gourmet" type meal.

I have already (2x) in one day on Thur, once on Friday, etc....

I saw Bob Wheeler in there for lunch with a group after the "Carve your own road" phone interview.

The food there is SOOO Good. Even eating outside is nice too...

Saves labor time.

Over laying of metal and charging for replacement, is insurance fraud, and/or customer fraud, as the case may be.

Caravanner Insurance penalized dealers for doing that over 38 years ago.

If they are using blind rivets on any of those new panels you might also ask him why they aren't using solid shank buck rivets instead?

Tom,

Went to Hussy's tonight... Bet you didn't know that they have Japanese regulars from the Honda plant, and such, have a special translated Japanese menu...

Thought I'd give you a shot of the English and the Japanese...

By the way - 2 large tables were take by a group of WBCCI folks on the way to some rally somewhere. Ran into them again at JC mothership camped out behind the service garage.... I guess they used JC as a meeting point to start the rally....Call be bad, but I didn't intorduce myself...

Note that they are using 225 75/R16 E rated LT tires on 3800 lb axels....

I've got two of these overlay panels, same place as Kevin's, on my trailer and they have both been stitched up with the olympics.

The tech says there isn't enough room to do a good Buck rivet there. He states (and I did see prior to the new panel overlay) that their was one buck rivet for every 4 inches. He's gone and put a Olympic rivet ever inch and a half or so, so there are more rivets holding it now that previous.

Now some may debate the strength between the two rivets, but the quantity of Olympics down there makes me comfortable. The rest will be Bucked anyways.
