blind rivets
what are the size and spec for blind rivets which match the hole size of the AS rivets. I have a few instances where I want to make some existing holes disappear as much as possible, so when the are polished they will blend in with the skin. Also a source where I can purchase small quantities. Thanks

Olympic rivets are used to replace the exterior blind (buck) rivets. The head size is the same.
However, buck rivets use a 1/8 inch hole, and the Olympics a 5/32 inch hole.
The correct drill sizes are #30 for the 1/8 hole and #21 for the 5/32 hole.
Olympics are expensive in small quantities.
As a typical example, 40 of them cost more than a bag of 100.

GESIPA makes them....5/16 but....you have to buy 5000 per order.
The best is either Inland or Vintage. A good Airstream dealer would just give you a few.

rivets
The olympic rivets are 5/32 however you will need a shaving tool to finish them off. The tool is very expensive around 200 dollars

re: blind rivets
I want to clarify , by blind rivets I mean the rivet which unlike the Olympic rivet has a visable head like the standard rivet, these are flush with the skin and after polishing are barely noticeable. I have places where drill holes were made that I need to make disappear as best as possible. Thanks maybe this will help!

A flush rivet. Get what you need at Fastenal...fastenal.com.
They are buck rivets and can't be used on thin aluminum. .032 is pushing it. Besides, now your looking at all the work, extra hands, tools and skill required for a flush rivet.
I think a good looking patch for bigger holes or an olympic is your best choice.

You are moving into the aircraft world with flush blind rivets. Unlike the button head "Olympic" blinds that are used on Airstream's which one size fits all, aircraft type blind come in two basic types, Cherrymax structural rivet and a Cherry self plugging style rivet which is similur to the Olympics as the stem needs to be shaved flush. Both have to be ordered in the lenght that matches the materail buildup of the area being riveted. Cherrymax are quite expensive and come in a varity of alloys.

I have a large supply of these cherry max flush rivets. Let me know if you want some....but, I don't think they will give you the flush, smooth, look for polishing you described.

The best way to make a hole "disappear" is to use a MS20426AX-X solid rivet. It will have to be bucked from the rear. I have done this on multiple places on my GT

You have skilled hands...I have a lot of those rivets too. But, my riveting left a lot to be desired.

Hey Areowood do you (or anyone) have any pictures of hole patches? I am starting a remodel of my 65 Sovereign and have some exterior holes to fill. Thanks!

How about a photo, showing the holes, "AND" exactly where they are located?

These areas are in the front just a bit curbside of the window. The larger hole pic is from a tv antenna.
