Yeah, that's what I thought too. I had two other guys look at my rear end
for the separation issue and even they didn't discern the wood rot. I found it after 2 years of poking around and even removing the bathroom carpeting. I didn't notice until I did some really close inspection of the area in the rear compartment/storage area. I presume my damage is due to the typical rear bumper hatch cover/trim leak. Mine is not showing rear separation yet - but with the wood damage, I expect it is forthcoming. So, while the floor might be solid on the interior, the edges where it secures into the C-channel might not be....
Do your own inspection and don't rely on only what the owners say. Not that they are trying to deceive you - but maybe they aren't as *informed* as others. The Previous Owner (PO) of my trailer said it didn't leak - which is pretty unlikely with any year trailer. I didn't notice leaks until the time that I didn't have it level (i.e. too low in the front and too lazy to fix) and the rain water ran in. Next time it was level and it was much less obvious. The PO didn't know about axles wearing out, rear end sep, gaskets rotting or .....
Well, you get the idea!
Happy hunting and I hope that trailer IS solid!
