Adding stringers to the ribs?

Hello all I am wondering if anyone has restructured their trailer with new stringers. I am wanting to reskin the inside of my 31 foot trailer in plywood instead of aluminum. Would adding C channel to the stringers and tying them in with the ribs allow to do this? I was also thinking of maybe two layers of ply staggered out...?

I replaced all the stringers in my GT with .063 2024-T3 aluminum and then clipped the stringers to the frames. It made a substantail difference in the ridigity of the shell. See the post below for pictures
