88 Excella 34'

New to Airstream. What a great site. I bought a damaged 88 Excella 34'. This site has answered all my repair questions except where to find some parts. The aluminum fender lip that is curved around the cutout for the triple axle wheel well. Also the landline and water access door and pocket that is just above this fender lip. Had a fire in this area and would also like to find the molded rubber wheel well that melted. Will add pictures later. I can rebuild the wheel well with aluminum if necessary.

You may want to try Colaw's in Carthage, Missouri to see if they have what you need.

COLAW RV PARTS & SALVAGE | WE HAVE YOUR PART!

Congrats on your new purchase. Good luck with the rebuild.

If you decide on new Airstream parts, a few Airstream dealers stock them.

Other than the fire damage, has the trailer been waterproofed?

As an example, the sewer vent pipe cover gaskets only last 2 to 3 years, other outside gaskets, maybe 15 to 20 years.

If this is the one that was just on ebay I saw the damage did not look that bad. The WBCCI Vintage Airstream Club and 4 Corners Unit have restoration rallies every year where you can learn a lot about doing the work yourself. If the damage was to a segment that does not have a compound curve you can get some sheet Alclad aluminum and replace the segment. Compound curve segments, like end caps, can be do it yourself but are a real art form, beyond me anyway. You can also buy the manufactured segments of course for more bucks. You are sure to find some streams with custom interiors with their creators not afraid to share their know how.
