26 Foot Exterior Buck Rivet Count
I just finished 3 hrs manually checking every single rivet, screw, and holes on my AS. I ended up finding 18 rivets that weren't perfectly flush the whole way around so I'll get a helper to hold the bucking tool tomorrow and fix them. In the process I kept a total count and heres what I found:
2,679 Buck rivets (135 hold the shell to front plate and floor channels)
201 Pop rivets holding the trim and tail lights on
208 Stainless screws in covers, lights brackets, handles, etc.
4 Lock Cylinders
12 Large Holes for vents, heaters, plumbing
57 Studs w/speednut clips for AIRSTREAM,flags, and International script
9 Windows
1 Entry door
3 Access doors
------------------------
3,174 Potential leak points not including seams, I've checked every one along with a 45 min leak test with a pressure washer DURING a rainstorm, and I think I finally feel confident the skin is sealed and ready for interior seal with a dozen cans of flexible rubber gutter seal I'm hoping will help provide a bit of a thermal barrier to the skin as well.

Sorry, not trying to bum anyone out. I figured the #'s might be useful to calculate rivets or screws needing ordered for anyone doing the full monty. It does seem like a lot I know, You're maybe around 4,000 ? Lets say 4,000 really tough attachments that sparkle like jewels all over when polished

And I do plan on getting counts of the belly pan when the concrete isn't so cold (months away still) and when the interior walls go back on I'll count them too.

Well, at least it is NOW sealed up tight. What about tomorrow? Surely by then something will have started working loose!
Nonetheless, good job on the counting. I'm impressed with your diligence. That's a lot of stuff to seal up. No wonder they sometimes (??!!!) leak when they come from the factory.

I have heard the term "rivet counter" but always thought they were a myth. Now I know they are for real. WOW!

Interesting info on what it takes hold one of these babies together.
I have never actually counted the rivets in my trailer but, I've been told that the number of rivets used to manufacture a 2010 Classic 27' is 5734.
