Where do I find a round sink?

Hi all, I am having a difficult time finding a round stainless sink. I have room for up to 22" diameter. The round ones I am finding are mostly very small 'bar' or 'prep' sinks. Anyone have a source? Thanks, Pam

Pam,

I have seen people use a stainless steel mixing bowl that you can get at any walmart. Once the proper hole is drilled into the bottom for the drain they look rather nice.

Steve, I saw a reference to that here on the forum. Sounds like a good idea. Would I just get help from my plumber friend for advice on how to attach the draid so it wouldn't leak? It could be fun looking for just the right stainless bowl.... Thanks, Pam

Thanks Janet! Did you have this research at your fingertips because you have one? Or are you just that good? (I have been looking and didn't come across this one). Have you used this website? Pam

no - but I have been looking for our trailer as well. Look at all the plumbing discount house and look in the bar and prep sink section.. Some of the bar sinks go up to 20" or better. Be sure to watch the sink depth - as it may be a problem in a trailer.

Home Depot - they have the exact model that came in my 2003 CCD. I am having them order the cutting board for the model I have. It's an order item but the have had the round sink as a display item in the store near me.

Diy

Pam,

I’m using salad bowls for sinks in my trailer.

In the bath, I’ve used a $19.00 (Canadian) bowl from IKEA as a vessel sink.

In the kitchen I will use a 18/10 stainless steel mixing bowl, very heavy and substantial, made by Tramontina in Brazil. I bought it at a big box for $62.00.

This bowl is 8” deep, like most sinks in most stores, and 13” in diameter (13 quart capacity). I will cut a hole in the kitchen counter to flush mount it.

It’s easy to make a sink this way. You can do it yourself. Cut a 1 1/2” hole (or whatever is called for) in the bottom of the bowl with a hole saw. You use the “push” type drain available inexpensively at Home Depot, etc.

Goggle “stainless steel vessel sink” and you’ll find they start at $400.00. I’ve also seen in-counter ones at the fancy bath and kitchen shops for $400 to $500 and upwards.

You can see the vessel sink being installed here:

Contemporizing 1976 Argosy D - opinions please

The attached photo is of the Tramontina bowl.

Ikea

They have sinks at a cheap price.

IKEA | home | Kitchen | Sinks & faucets | Sinks | EMSEN Single-bowl inset sink

all of $39 bucks.

I made a mistake in my report to you. I looked through my receipts and the Tramontina bowl cost only $24.95!!!!!!!

The SS bowls can be nibbled with a $15 hand tool that bites little 1/8 x 1/8th squares out with each hand squeeze - I got one new a while back, good stainless can be impossible to drill w/o cobalt steel bits.... but a small starter hole to get the nibbler started then scroll around the needed diameter - if needed a metal file will clean up the tiny facets it leaves behind...

Wabbiteer, can you post buying info on the nibbler? It took me 15 or more minutes to cut the hole in the first bowl and the one I have to do next is much thicker stainless. Sounds like a solution.
