another member pointed me in this direction when I asked about bunks....amazing setup

I will have to if needed later ask more about how to's regarding construction and securing these to the AS....

Great looking family!! I have 4 siblings....we would have had a blast doing the same thing growing up....we were never big campers back then, but I did more camping when older. Memories will last forever...take care....

We are still having a blast with our bunkhouse. The living room has a queen for us and a pullout twin for Robs mom, so it really sleeps ten. Sure do love it!

10?!?....as far as number of persons sleeping in an AS per volume, this must perhaps be a record for the AS forum here???

It's a good use of space in a 29 footer for sure!

Awesome bunk beds

I know this is a few years too late, but we are a family of 8 looking for an Airstream and the triple bunks seem to be the way to go. What is the clearance in between the bunks and the the clearance of the ceiling on the top bunk? Oh.....we are currently using an old Coleman pop up too! We are looking for a Sovereign.

Years ago....

My family had a mid-sized Airstream---maybe a 26 ft'r that was custom fitted with bunk beds midship. Each upper bunk was made with a split down it's long axis so that the portion of the bed towards the center aisle could be lift up and slide over / onto the outside portion. The idea was that the bunks did not eliminate head room for day usage, as there were 8 of us in that trailer, and that's were the kids ate. They used redwood to remain as light weight as possible. I am always hoping to see that old trailer here on Air Forums sometime! I'm sorry that I don't have any photos to illustrate the design.
