Twin Mattress

I am making a new rear bed twin mattres. But since I gave away both my mattresses I now need a pattern for the corner curve. Any one have an idea for the easiest way or someone set the mattress on a paper and trace the corner.

Hello David -- Are you doing this by this weekend? I am contemplating a thread on an old trick to copy irregular shapes -- probably won't get to it before next Monday or Tuesday. Jim (of Jim & Susan) had noted the usefulness of such a technique maybe 6-7 weeks back.

Ahh! I just retired and am still feeling useful!!

I just went out to our '66 Tradewind twin mattresses. I took with me a one gallon paint can to which it's diameter is a little over 6 1/2" The can fits fairly good into the curve of the mattress corner. You could place such a can onto and into the square corner of a piece of cardboard and trace it. Pull the can out from the corner a bit. The matress radius is not sharp so when you trace the can bring your marker out to meet the 2 90 degree sides. I'm sure this will not need to be brain surgery accurate.

Thanks folks, I not in two much of a hurry as I've been working on this for a couple of years but now want to speed it up and finishing in the next few months. Member "Waynon" offered to trace it for me.

When I gutted the trailer I gave a lot/most of the interior items away from goucho to mattresses.

I still have the bathroom sink/counter and roller door under it along with the plumbing and faucett available. I also have the kitchen double sink if anyone is interested.
The photos are in the other PC so if anyone wants to see them let me know and I will email them.

David
