The higher that taxes get to pay the national debt and entitlement programs, the more attractive bartering becomes.

Which entitlement programs are you speaking of? Welfare or AFDC cost the government 1% of the budget or 12 billion dollars a year. They just gave 85 billion to AIG and billions more to other private investment companies and spend a billion a week in Iraq. Corporation have always received far more government welfare than individuals in this country. They can start to cut these intitlement programs by saying NO to the car companies who now have their hands out.

AFDC is only one of quite a few government entitlement programs.

In 2005, Senator Judd Gregg, then Chairman of the Senate Budget Committee stated that "Mandatory entitlement spending now represents a whopping 55 percent of all federal spending. If left on its current path, that could jump to more than 60 percent in 10 years. That will force us to cut out other necessary expenditures or raise taxes and weaken our economy." Source: The Hill newspaper, Washington DC.

That is one of very few of his bikes that I really like. Even if I wasn't an AS fan I would still really dig that bike. Very nice.

Ran across an interesting website the other night dealing with Time Banking I haven't read through it completely. But supposedly it cannot be taxed, unlike Barter. And FWIW I have seen a couple of people get tagged by the IRS for barter. Someone must have tried to write something off and got flagged for audit.
