storage area roll-doors

What is the "trick" or is there one, for making the roll-doors on the storage areas open and close smoothly?
(Other than brute force? hehehe)

Or if not smoothly, open at all? (one is kinda stuck halfway!)

Thanks!

ps....I just found this site yesterday, and the info everyone is so willing to share is awesome, and so fast!

Tambour

I guess you are talking about your "tambour doors"?

Once again, plenty of threads on them. There can be several problems with them, ranging from simple lack of lube to delamination, separation, broken coil tracks, foriegn objects stuck in them, (mud dauber nests in my case) etc., etc. They are both, a blessing and a curse, like most things in life.

Tambour Doors

I would remove the tambout that is sticking (take out sprial bracket), see if there is seperation or dirt, correct or replace). You may be getting near the time you will have to replace them all. (As noted above, search tambour in the forum and you will find everything you need to know.)

this is a learning experience!

It makes it easier, now knowing that the dang doors have their own special name....tambour.....

Methinks I should surf the site some more!!

Thank you!
