replacing tambour

We are thinking about replacing our tambour doors with pull up frosted plexi-glass. Does anyone have any experience with this or any other material to use. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Welcome to the forums, you have come to the right spot for opinions.
Your idea sounds interesting, I just can't figure out how you would do that, could you elaborate on this idea.
The CCD's use sliding frosted plexiglass doors. What type of mechanism are you planning to use?
Do you know that the tambor material is available for your cabinates in many different styles. http://www.tapeease.com./tambour_doors_and_tracks.htm
Take a look at this link.

Gary,
I thought maybe sliding doors or ones that pull up like the old wood doors on the 60's models. I'm not sure if it would work, but I really don't love the tambour doors. Thanks for the link, I will consider that also.

Fixed mine with original tambour. Not too much trouble after they are taken apart. Used double sided exterior carpet tape and a dacron fabric. OK for 3 years now.
