I knew a guy named Renaldo once... moved back to California. Played with a band here and last I heard, his wife fired him. Something to do with who he'd spent the previous night with...

Always wondered why someone would call a sleeper sofa in an Airstream a Gaucho, Michael... unless they're from Argentina... hummm...

Gaucho's be gone

I've done the Gaucho to recliner conversion
Photo 1 - recliners in place of the front gaucho
Photo 2 - rear gaucho pulled, getting ready for-
Photo 3 - new bed frame with lift up area for storage

This solves several problems-
Visitors "we could sleep on the front sofa"
What was airstream thinking with the mid gaucho?
Gaucho's sleep like a cheap hotel bed
and
no large storage area

Smile My wife's lifting recliner

This post is close to my heart. My wife Fran had a stroke 8 years ago and we have a lifting/recliner chair that I feel we need to bring with us to make sure she will be comfortable. I too am leaning towards removing the sofa/couch, from our 34' limited.

Another question that comes to mind is do you need to secure the recliner to the floor so that it won't shift or slide while traveling from campground to campground?

Regards,

Franny and Reganzo

I used coarse thread socket head wood screws through the feet of the recliners. I figure the frame of the trailer takes about 10% of the surface area under the floor, that means you (like I) have a 90+% chance of hitting the frame at any point...
