I haven't been to active on this forum lately...but for good reason...been busy working on my website and my 345. Here is a pic of my latest two projects...refacing the kitchen cabinets to look like the CCD cabinets with upgraded hardware and pulls.
I'm also replacing the shower stall with a newer upgraded look and hardware. I posted a lot more about it on my blog here: Members
REALLY like the look of the updated kitchen. Might have to go with something similar in my TT kitchen.
As for the shower - I think that the current finish (as per the photo) will be more like a SPONGE than anything more photos to come?!? Kidding.
Glad that your time is being used in such a functional fashion....me, I sat under my anwing with a friend today and DREAMED about going camping.... sigh

the cabinet & drawer faces are 3/4" melmine MDF from Home Depot. Edged with iron on melimine strips. Pulls are from Target.
The kitchen counter is a mock up made from plywood. Replacing with an aluminum (or melimine) MDF panel along with a round SS sink soon.
Backsplash is also a mock up painted hardboard...to be replaced with an aluminum sheet. Backsplash over the stove is 1/4" hardboard painted with magnetic chalkboard paint...perfect for notes.
Stained the existing red oak frames with MinWax Espresso stain.

Like the look!!! I am doing a new top on the entertainment center/cabinet on my Excella and have chosen WilsonArt Deepstar Mineral because it goes with my existing upolstry and carpet. However, I saw metal finished laminates at Wilsonart Laminate Cart - METALAMINATES™. You can order WilsonArt from Home Depot. It would be perfect for your counter tops.
vswingfield, thanks for the link. I like the aluminum laminate look and was disappointed to see that the IKEA counters were only 25" deep (I needed 27"). A 73" x 25" x 3/4" counter in aluminum laminate was only $79.
mwinter, doing the work myself but I think an average finish carpenter could handle a cabinet refacing. The shower is a little more involved and definately more "RV" specific.
$79 is great. A 4x8' sheet of the Deepstar Mineral, the smallest available, was $145 after shipping and taxes. Besides that, I had to buy AC plywood and adhesive. Besides the entertainment center, I'm doing my dinette table too. Will still have some leftover. I'll probably start next weekend. This weekend was brakes and tires on my F150. (Yes, I know it's too small for the Excella, but it is new (to me, anyway). I'll post pics when done.
Other than a few odds and ends (kick panel, staining the frame in one place, and connecting the drain line....I'm happy to report that the kitchen is done.
