Recliners?

We are looking to purchase a new 27FB, but really want dual recliners. Can you actually have them installed directly from airstream, or must installation be done as an aftermarket/self install?

Yes airstream can install them for you, they remove the couch and have to install a cabinet to cover the inverter. At least that is how my FC 2013 30' is. Funny I am actually looking at doing the opposite and have the recliners removed and the couch installed, we have 2 small children still but need the room. It is not inexpensive though

You can do it yourself very easily and end up with much more comfortable recliners. I've done it on two Airstreams, one a 25' and the second a 30'. I kept everything I took out and reinstalled before we sold them.

Welcome to the forum Joellen!

In addition to the good advice here, the following link will take you to search results for other threads which have mentioned recliners:

https://cse.google.com/cse?cx=011403...ners&gsc.sort=

The Search function here takes some getting used to, so the above link is for your convenience to use as you wish.

Good luck with your recliners! Someday I hope to have them in a larger Airstream also.

Happy Trails . . .

Peter

It might be best to give Airstream a call and see what their current policy and estimated cost on this is.

If you buy your own chairs just be sure they will fit in the door! Trust me.

We have an 08 FB and are planning to do the same. Removing all the bench seating will expose the forced air furnace and may need to be relocated if a footrest is used on chair next to drivers side. European style chairs should fit through the door.
