Question for owners of mid twin bed units of early 70s

The PO had removed the curbside roof locker above the twin bed and I recently purchased a replacement that differs from the one on the other side. The one I just received has a storage tub that mounts to the underside of the roof locker. The problem I'm having is that the hinge on the back of the storage tub wasn't attached when I received it and there are no holes in the bottom of the locker which match the bottom of the roof locker. Did I receive all of the hardware to use this? It seems that if I drilled new holes for the hinge to attach to the underside that it wouldn't snap in on the front. Somethings wrong.

Can somebody tell me what their assembly looks like hardware wise?

Thanks in advance,
Mike

Doesn't anybody have this type of roof locker?

Or did I not explain my problem well enough?

I'm leaning toward removing the storage tug, but would like other opinions on the matter.

Mike...pictures might help...my 75 has an overhead storage area, but it has the tambour doors that roll up. It looks just like the storage cabinet over the galley area but in brown instead of the lighter color.

My '75 Argosy has the same type of swing up over compartments as are on both sides of the galley. Is your existing one a tambour or a swing up?

My fault...

I'm not talking about the doors in the front like the tambour doors, the attachment I'm talking about is the storage tub which mounts underneath the roof locker. It's supposed to underneath the locker with the hinge but there are no existing holes. So my question is is there anything else the hinge underneath attaches to? Hope that makes things clearer.

Mike, My '73 doesn't have anything like the "Tub" your talking about for the Locker above the bed. It does have those below the bed. Is it possible that they sent extra stuff that should be mounted elsewhere? A picture or two might help.

Mike,
I was going to answer this earlier but decided since I never took pictures of the hinge area where it mounts to the tambour upper cabinets then I really would not be much help. I will tell you that I had to push both the release knobs straight inward with my palms while my fingers kept the storage tub from opening too fast. There is a steel wire on each end to prevent the tub from swinging down too far. I kept a few sheets and 2 fishing rods in that compartment. I didn't want to load the thing up for fear that it would put too much weight on the upper cabinet making it pull through the ceiling.
