Pull out Pantry with adjustable shelves

Well, I have finished the rebuild on my 64 Safari and here is the pull out Pantry I built for storage.
This idea will work for any closet you would like to convert to pull out.
With all the talk about useable closet storage, I just thought someone might like to reproduce this for there trailer.
Here are some photo's, what do you think?

I think it is great. I want it.

We have such an oddly sized closet, and the width/depth change 11" back.

We are also not very handy.

Sinking into a deep, closet-centered funk.

That is a great use of space! A couple of questions. What kind of wood did you use? Did you build all of the cabinets your self? I'm getting to that point of my project, and I'm looking for ideas and direction. Also where did you get the sliders, and what are the weight ratings?

This is pretty cool. I have the newer 25 FB with a very narrow pull out pantry. The way mine is set up wastes a lot of internal space. The actual wire shelves actually use only about half of the opening, the rest is wasted. Yours looks much more efficient. I like you finger hole handle on the slide too.

I'm wondering if you considered eliminating the outside door. (The wood work on the pull out is pretty enough to be shown!) Do you have a way of locking it in place while traveling?

Thanks guys,

doug&maggie,
Don't despair. you can build a pull out in almost any width, depth or height you have to work with. I can help-long distance like.

Siverflames,
The dimensional wood is Maple and the rest is 1/2' Maple faced "Apple ply" and some Maple shop ply were it doesn't show. I hand rubber 6 coats of General Finishes "Salad Bowl Finish" inside and out. I did build all of the cabinets myself. However I did have some design help from Uwe at Area63productions in Orange, CA. Uwe is the master!
The slides on the bottom are Accuride 3600-201-c ,175 lb. and the top is an Accuride 3832 , 100lb. I think I ordered through thehardwarehut.com I think they were less than Rockler.

Foiled Again,
Paula, I did consider a couple of options. Integrate the door onto the pull out, no door, etc. However the DW convinced me that it would look better if it had a door that matched the rest of the cabinets. Who am I to argue?
Yes I fabricated a simple pin to lock the pull out from sliding and the door has a magnet to keep it closed.

You know Dennis it's tough when people like you make people like me THINK. I'm short and the shelf above my cloths pole in the closet is too high for me to see most of the stuff I store there. A pull out basket would be nice there, but the back is up in the curve of the ceiling.

I haven't woven a wicker basket for half a century but I'm a thinkin' about one now that I can pull out and down. May need to make a steel wire frame... or gee how about a plexiglass one...

Oh well, never start vast projects with half-vast ideas. I'll ruminate a bit longer.

Paula

Sliders?

Hi Dennis. Very nice job on the pull out pantry. I need to replace an old metal pull out pantry shelf with a new wood pantry. Do you use sliders on the top and bottom? Thanks!
