Had a water damaged panel in my 64 Overlander - next to the door. I took it in, and found that there is a new stain made by minwax. Part of their custom stain line - you have to have it mixed up front. It's called English Oak, and it's a dead ringer for the original color. Very happy with it.
okay, not perfect. I had some water based dyes, and had to add a little yellow. then a little purple. I got it really, really close, but the perfectionist in me isn't happy. Sure looked right in the store, but when you get a couple coats on, it's only very close. Probably no one exept a purist would notice.
Looks lovely! My father in law loves to work with wood, and he has volunteered to refinish the cabinet doors. Now that I know the stain to use, I can assemble the supplies. Thank you!
