Painting over previously painted tambour?

Has anybody here had any experience either removing paint from tambour doors or maybe even painting over already painted tambour?
Mine are painted an ugly brown; I've used jasco to remove the brown paint from my wing window frame and it didn't come off easily at all.
I'm not sure if I should try to remove the paint from the tambour, sand it down, just leave it and paint over it, or what. Any advice will be greatly appreciated! I don't imagine sanding in all those cracks and crevices to be a fun task either but I'll do what it takes to ditch the dark brown.

removing paint

as long as the paint isn't on too thick so as to prevent the tambours from being able to operate correctly, just a rough sand should get things cooking. you're going to spray paint them right? using a spray paint for plastic will yield the best results.

I want to paint my tambours, how difficult was it to remove them from the cabinets?
