Painted tambours don't want to open. omg.

All kinds of fun here trying to get the Airstream painted before it gets cold. I primed and painted the tambours after 2 weeks of taping.

When I tried to roll them up, the paint pulled off the edges. The tambours in the end cap won't open at all. I'm thinking about removing them and painting the inside of the cabinets. This is a way low budget operation! No paint sprayer.

I know you talked about a budget, but you have to see what this fellow did:

Airstream Restoration - 05-4 Tambour Door - YouTube

This is part of a series comprised many of the jobs we need to do in order to upgrade a TT.

If it's to be, it's up to me.

Thanks for the message. I love this guy and his whole series of videos. It doesn't look so hard now that I'm not overwhelmed by everything else. I don't like the white tambours anyway. Might but birch veneer on the cabinets and match with new tambours.
Thanks again!
