Organizing cabinets

How do folks organize or contain books in upper cabinets without having them sliding all over? I don't seem to be able to corral them so they stay put. Thanks for suggestions!

Being heavy, books should be in your lower cupboards.

Anchor them in place with something, and they should move less.

Having the same question about upper cabinets. Trying the kind of rubberized material used to keep rugs from slipping. And using plastic storage boxes to keep small items from sailing around.

Also find the slick plastic lids in the rear storage area are making it hard to keep things organized back there. Thinking of using a lot of milk crates and bungees.

I put this folding table book shelf combo in. Holds DVDs and books, etc securely

Thanks! Unfortunately I only have one floor level storage. Have shelf mats, have plastic containers for glasses, tried bookends...nothing holds securely. Off to find baskets I guess.

We traded in real books for Nooks early in our retirement travel, which makes a huge difference in weight and space.

I have a couple of handmade, magazine-style racks mounted to rear lower cabinets for a few cookbooks.

Like other posters we use e-books to the extent feasible to minimize the number of books we carry on the road.

Beyond that, we use a combination of baskets and drawer dividers to keep some of the cupboards organized. They help keep things from shifting around during travel. I take measurements and go to a discount store or someplace that has home decor. Sometimes I end up with plain plastic, other times wicker or wood or some other more aesthetically pleasing material.

For glassware I made a divided box out of cardboard that has a cell for each glass.
