New table.

Hi, I'm doing a little remodel in our trailer and need a larger table. The original fold up table is about 23"s wide and 27" long and when opened it is double, 54"s long. I need a table that is 30"s wide and I still might want it to fold out to double the length. Has anyone made their own table top? What did you make it out of? [something that won't warp] Plywood, solid oak, pine? Another thought was to go to an "Unfinished Oak Furniture Store" and buy a table and just use the oak top. The picture below is the only one I have of my original fold out table. Any ideas appreciated.

The big box stores like Lowe's sell table tops. I bought a round one for a project a few years ago.
