New Front Credenza/folding table

I have posted two new pictures in the photo section of my new front credenza/folding table. The old one was a vinyl and pressed wood horror that was trying to return to the earth from which it came, one small piece at a time. I built a new one with raised panels from solid oak and a regular door, rather than the tambour. Not original, to be sure, but much, much better. The door, being front facing, has a positive latch, not just a spring catch.

I am also going to attempt to attach a picture here, but if it does not work you should be able to view it at http://www.airstreamphotos.com/photo...er=139&thumb=1

Little by little, the 85 Sovereign is coming together.

Thumbs up credenza/folding table

Great cabinet work. You can be proud to show it off.

J54Mark,

Very, very nice! Is that the original table support and if not where did you obtain it.

Thanks,

Yes, that is the factory table leg. I also used the factory hinge and slide.

My motorhome has the same table support and hinges. How did you install the hinge...a router? I would like to do the same project, the table alone. Mine has the piano hinge to the wall, but looks essentially the same otherwise. I am pretty handy, but not done much woodworking, just lots of refinshing, etc.
Thanks!

"How did you install the hinge...a router?"

I doubt I could control a router well enough to set those hinges. Maybe one of those laminate trimming routers would work. I used a drill and chisels. I would not do it again. In fact, I am thinking seriously about taking out the table and converting it to a single split top with a couple of leaves.
