New bedroom cabinet 85 Sovereign

This picture will help you visualize our rather uncommon floorplan. The bedroom (rear) has a full size bed on the streetside, and a cabinet/counter on the curbside.

The original cabinet was a set of four rather small plastic bins behind a tambour door and had an amazing amount of wasted space. I built a set of four larger, deeper drawers, plus a cubyhole at the back accessed through a door. The blanked off area below is outside storage.

Possibly the best part of this cabinet is that it is not as deep as the factory unit, which gives us more room to stand on the floor. It was pointless to build it deeper as the two lower drawers will only open as far as the bed.

Now that I look at this picture, I realize I forgot to put on the trim around the corner below the closet.

Should the picture fail to attach, you may see my remodeling project in my folder in the members photos section.
