Need Help with '70s Tambour Door Stop Screws

How do these work?

On my front roof locker, one side was broken and I took it out to repair, but I can't figure out how to get it to catch so it doesn't slide too far. The other side catches when it reaches the middle of the track, like its supposed to.

Looking at the repair manual, it says there is a door stop screw at the bottom of the track.. I've been adjusting them but can't figure out how to get them to catch the tambour and work right.

Anyone have any insight?

Thanks!
