need better table support

I put a 3 sided lounge in the front of our Argosy. The table is supported by on chrome 3" pipe that fits into an aluminum socket on the floor and the bottom of the table. The floor flexes and the pipe moves in the sockets if you put any pressure on the edges of the table. I would be afraid to take it down the road with the table up, the way is moves around. I could pull the belly pan and re enforce the floor with another steel crossmember, but the pipe and socket setup will still move around. Is there any better system out there for a removable table that I could install?

Howdy!

Can you add a plate to the pipe to mane a wider base in top of floor? A nice piece of diamond plate with a hole in the center would spread the load. Just weld it on

PM if want to discuss.

One thing you might try is to take some eye bolts, or eye screws, and attach to the underside of the table on all four corners, and to the floor directly below the table corners. Then, using quarter-inch coated steel cable (low stretch that way) and some turnbuckles (to adjust the tension) run cables from the eyes in the table to the eyes in the floor. With the cables all properly tensioned (but not tight enough to pull out) the table should be very stable. When you're parked, you can remove the cables to get them out of the way and use the table normally.

The table is too tippy with just the single pole to eat off of without spilling your drink, if someone leans on it. There must be something better out there then just the pole and brackets I now have.

There is a pneumatic pedestal out there that's perfect for your needs.

Airstream uses them in the new 22(?) and 2014 23FB.

I have seen tables with two post mounts like what you have. Nice dinet. I bet those cushions set you back a piece. It is too late now but before you put down the flooring you could have put some extra wood under the sub floor where the post mounts.

There is a RV TRIPOD TABLE LEG BASE on rv surplus and ebay. I will be using that to move the table around. There was one model that was height adjustable also. Sorry unable to add a link to this but easy enough to google search

What do the rest of you that have a 3 sided booth with nothing to attach the edge of the table to use for a table leg that doesn't wobble?
