Missing cabinet door

Hi Folks

Just purchased a 1983 Limited 34' and the hall cabinet shown in the photo is missing. If anyone could help me find one I would appreciate.

The unit is great and does not need much but I am going to update it with new carpet, curtains, counter tops ect.

Thanks all

Welcome to the Forum!!

Isn't the interior workmanship great??

You will find a HUGE wealth of information here in the Forums.

There is a good representation of all Airstream products - we all try to share information.

That should be relatively easy to make. The effort would be to match the grain and color of the adjacent wood.

missing cabinet door

Thanks for the posts

I have thought of making it but I think the color match would be tough. The other think is I dont know if it was a solid door or a frame with an inset like the one below it.

What do you intend the cabinet space to be?

From the 110 volt receptical in the cabinet space, it looks as if the original use was a microwave, oven, or possibly an icemaker?

If you need to add an appliance (kitchen, stereo, or TV), a "built in" look would be easy to accomplish.

I have found that matching the patina of the wood just takes a bit of experimentation. Start with a good oak board, and add just a bit of stain at a time, and finish with a good "Tung" oil.

How about some additional interior and exterior photos?

Looking at the photo, I think the door is needed for the space above the area with the outlet.

Try calling some of the Airstream graveyards. I'd start with Bob's RV Salvage (386-454-5733) or Colaw RV Salvage (417-548-2125). They should be able to ship the door if they have it.

Judging by the hinges and holes for hinges plus the magnetic stop on the top, I believe this opening had two vertical doors over the entire height of the opening. Just my observations. Maybe the doors were removed to take out the original microwave because the outlet was faulty. I would bet the PO has them around somewhere.

Gottcha! Now I see it. I was guessing the lower area was meant to be open based on the fact that the inside is finished with the same wood grain material as the outside of the cabinet.
