How does it sleep? Most sit well but are a real tourture device to sleep on. I love the leather but am leary of spending the money for a comfy couch only.

Since anyone using it to sleep on will be an overnight guest, I look at the less-than-comfortable sleeping as the price of admission. I'll be using a couch much more than a guest will be sleeping on it.
This would of course be much different if someone were to use it nightly.

I opened it up, and it was not uncomfortable to lay on. This sofa is going to be the main sleeper for Amy and I while Collin will take the luxurious memory foam mattresses in the rear. If we were fulltiming, we might have opted for another option, but this will work dandy for us.
Maybe I'll go take a nap on it today and report back later.
I am so happy that you posted the info on your sofa purchase, and Glastop. I am seriously considering replacing the front bed in our 07 20' SE with a sofa sleeper, and would appreciate your opinion on how well it sleeps. I actually don't like the mattress that came with our coach, as I find it too soft.......prefer the dinette cushions (firmer) better, but I'm just a bit too tall to really be comfortable sleeping on it. With the exception of not having a couch, we are happy with our 20' layout......replacing the bed with a flexsteel sofa sleeper may turn it into the "perfect" Airstream (for us).
I have just come in from lying on if for about 15 minutes. There was no noise from the springs or mattresses. I am unsure about the wheelwell, but it did fit over the optima battery that we have in the very front.

Chief,
Your 20' with sofa/sleeper would turn that coach into a much more versitle unit in my opinion. The mattresses are pretty firm, especially when you consider the memory foam cushions we have in back. I think it is a winner.
Amy and I slept on it at the Branson rally. It isn't super comfy, but it isn't terribly uncomfy either. Since I am now full-timing, I sleep in one of the memory foam twins and leave it a couch. If the whole family was full-timing, I would get a topper for it.
