Looking for a discontinued Formica white/gold fleck
Hi there I am looking for some Formica that was very popular in the 60's and 70's...I know good luck right...its discontinued..
I would be interested in a tabletop or any other surface it may be laminated on..of course ideally it would be not laminated.. but beggars cant be choosers.
The pattern is mostly white with gold flakes.. there were two..one with just the gold flakes and another that had lines though it. The gold in these two patterns are more of a flake than a fleck

Jeff, unless you are trying to match an existing piece, there are retro formica patterns at Home Depot and other brand stores. I looked though their catalog when I was working on the 66 Caravel I have. Pretty neat stuff and very reto - others on here have posted pictures of the patterns they used. Of course, if you are trying to only replace one area than this would present a problem with matching - but, the good news is to replace all the formica in a trailer is not that much in square footage. It can be overlayed with new.
I am going to update the look in my Airstreams, but when I was at Lowes the woman told me I can order the white with gold specs if I want. You might be surprised about being able to get it.

It doesn't say where or how much it will cost, but if you email him I bet he will point you in the right direction. If and when you find out please post the info on this thread. I'm sure many of us would be interested.
Most of the Formica I use in my work (musical instrument maker) is all salvaged from discarded furniture or other sources.. I am so used to working with old Formica I guess I have become used to its brittleness.. I use such small pieces..
Somebody posted this question recently. I remembered that there was a member that actually found a resourse for this stuff. The member posted where to find it. I forgot to bookmark it. Dang. Do a search on "boomerang", as in a pattern name for formica and I'll bet it will pop out.

Jim,
Are you refering to the Formica boomerang or a thread that refered to a source for the gold fleck?
Hey Steve, that's a good one, but not the one I was thinking of. Recently somebody posted a similar question. I responded that I had found the answer once-upon-a-time and the fellow that originally found the coutertop posted almost immediatly behind me. I'll keep looking. Drives me nuts when I can't find things like this.
