Looking for 5mm or 3/16" plywood

I want to replace a plywood panel in my 68. The aluminum channel that attaches the edge of the panel to the wall is sized for 3/16" plywood (which is the thickness of the original stuff). Unfortunately, I'm having a tough time finding plywood of this thickness in any species, let alone walnut.

Any suggestions?

I'd use 1/4" ply and "back bevel" the bottom with either a hand plane or belt sander where it sits in the channel. Once installed, you won't notice it.

I use Boulter Plywood corp for the marine grade plywood used in the canoes I build. They have always been good to deal with and have a great selection of material.

3mm and 5mm are quite common in the marine world, but you won't find it at home depot. It took me a while to find a source of 1/16" aircraft grade plywood but its out there.

I just trashed some wall paneling from my rec room, and it measured 5/32

I bet doorskin 3' x 7' panels measures about that and boy is it inexpensive.

You can use the 1/4 and run a router with a flat bit down the edges.
You can also use 1/8 and then use 1/16 walnut veneer. Depends on if both sides of the panel are visible, because teh veneer would only fit single sided.
Or, you can use 1/8in walnut with thin spacers to make up the difference inside the channel.
