Kitchen sink Cutting board.

One problems in my rig has been the cutting board. My '78 sovereign has a nice pull out cutting board under the microwave that I love. But the problem with cutting and then cleaning up after meat and vegies led the former owner and now a good friend of mine to make a board for the sink. He cut down a normal heavy duty plastic cutting board (one of those plastic jobs you find everywhere now days) to the dimensions of one of the sinks in the double sink. Then he cut a notch that measures about 2 x 5" in one end where parings could be scrapped off the board into the sink below. Finally he drilled two holes in each end, parallel to one another and into each he fitted a heavy duty wire hoop that probably extends about two inches beyond the ends of the cutting board and measures about eight inches long. These two hoops keep the cutting board from dropping into the sink. It is a terrific gizzmo. I use it for everything including draining dishes after washing up. When I'm finished with it I turn it endwise into the sink and it fits at a convenient diagonal for cleaning. Then I hang it under the sink along the left wall where he has mounted two hooks. The hoops go over the hooks that are placed at the same dimension as the board plus hoops and the board hangs in place under the sink until it is needed again.

I moved this thread for you. Sounds like a good idea on the board. It would be helpful also if you could post a photo. Thanks for sharing your solution.
