Kitchen cabinets

Ok, I've been searching and haven't found the answer yet. My 75 Excella has the wood-colored vinyl cabinets and frig, it reminds me of contac paper. What is the best way to clean it? I have read that using a citrus-based cleaner will strip out the moisture. ? I have read that some people use a vinyl restorer...is that like the stuff you buy for your car interior? Any other suggestions?
