I've been building kitchen cabinets from scratch. It's my first time trying to build cabinets and it's going well, so I'm sharing...
I used quarter sawn white oak and am going for a "stickley" finish. It's not authentic though, stickley used ammonia gas and glaze, etc. My process was basically stain, light sand, teak oil, light sand, shellac, light sand, shellac, light sand, shellac.
I used the cheap Kreg jig pocket screw kit for assembling the face frames. It worked great! Link:
