How / where is this Gaucho cushion used?

Hi there, newbie question:

Where does this cushion go? I believe related to the gaucho on my '69 Tradewind

I'm planning to make new cushions and want to understand what this is first. Thanks!

It looks similar to the thin cushion we have attached to the wall where your shoulder and hip would touch when the gaucho is in bed position. It shows on the left hand side of this picture. Protects you from the cold wall in our '77 Overlander. Could it be the same? Click image for larger version

Hi there : )

I don't think so? But maybe. The cushion is pretty thick... a little over 6".

If that's what it is, I'm not sure where it goes when the gaucho is in "sofa" position (as opposed to "bed" position).

The full dimensions are: 76-1/4" W x 11" H x 6-1/4" D

Could it be used to fill in the gap between the wall and the bed when the front gaucho is pulled out into a bed?

"Full" size bed

That cushion is used to expand the rear gaucho into an almost full-sized bed. Here's a shot of how it's stored and another of how it's used. These are from a 1966 Safari.
