Gaucho measurements for 65 Caravel

Hoping someone out there could help me. I have a 65 Caravel - its in transit now and I'm hoping to place an order for fabric to slipcover the gauchos. Does anyone know the measurements? Would greatly appreciate it....
Thanks in advance...

It would depend if you have the original cushion arrangement. On mine the side gaucho measures 48 inches wide x 76 inches long when folded out into a bed. It is 2 cushions, but originally it would have been 3 cushions. The front on mine is about 42 inches wide by 72 inches long, in 3 cushions. Your should be about the same dimensions, unless a previous owner modified things. I have see modifications of width before, but not length.

I hope that helps a little....

good luck with your new Caravel, they are great trailers.

If you have the original foam, consider replacing it, we recovered our 65 Caravel using about 14 yds of material with new foam.............

Welcome to the forums and congrats on your new purchase!

You might want to consider waiting for the trailer to arrive (though I know that is hard to do). When we had our upholstery and foam replaced in our Bambi II, we actually gave the upholsterer the original gauchos to work from. By doing this, he could more accurately cut the foam and sew the covers by using the existing cushions as a template.

Good luck with your project! We would love to see photos of your new trailer too!
