FINALLY finished my 'cushion to cabinet' mod - 23D

It feels so good to actually finish something!

It all began here: http://www.airforums.com/forums/f38/...et-164357.html

So, the little project is completed now and both wife a I are delighted with how it turned out. No more struggling with that darned upholstered bolster, much more comfortable seating, and a wee bit of outside-door-accessible storage, too.

All of my original goals for this project have been met, including that the thing NOT look too 'home made,' or amateurish... I really wanted it to blend nicely with the factory interior of our Serenity.

A couple of parting shots: Fitting - and hinging - the little cubbyhole door was a royal pain. I had to install the Airstream factory vinyl edge trim three times to get it right... sheesh.

Anyway, enough talk, here's photos:

Great job as usual.

What is the size of the opening?

Wow!
That's craftsmanship.
Even the grain on the door matches!

Hi Kelvin... the opening is roughly 5 1/2" X 6"

Here's hoping you've finally conquered that elusive leak!

Thank you very much! All those compound angles were a challenge at times. The 'grain' alignment in the Asian Sand (pattern) Wilsonart laminate was probably worth doing.

Really nice idea, and well-crafted. Is the wine for us?

SWEET!!, nice job indeed.... we just "rehabilitated" our dinette as well, for the same reason, we will never sleep on it, so why not utilize the space differently?? And Rob, your a smart man, make sure the boss is comfortable!! Our 04 international has/had the dinette on the side.
Again, great job!!!
