Fifth Avenue Lounger BUSTED

Our 1978 Argosy has a pull out bed. We went to sleep and bang, it fell to the floor. Can you get the nylon roller ends for the extrusions anywhere. And is that all that supports the bed?

Sorry, 'cause I bet it hurt, but I laughed out loud when I read that!

And I can't even give you a source. Is that all that supports the sleeper, a nylon roller? Until I regain my svelte younger body weight (as if I ever will) I don't think I would trust only that.

Can you please post a photo of the mechanism?

It was pretty funny. The PO modified the cushions so there is particle board that sits over the base. Maybe a diet is in my future, but if thats how they were designed they must hold a decent weight.

Normally I would suggest Out of Doors Mart. That is where I bought my replacement. Granted after I had to look high and low, I bought all that they had (3) because I don't plan on dieting

Had a similar problem with our '72 Safari LY. When you pulled the bed out too far, the whole top went haywire and could dump you on the floor if you weren't careful. After some investigation, I discovered we were missing the sliding endcaps. I searched high and low and could not find anywhere so I had some machined. Doesn't sound like the rollers you're looking for but I have some listed on classifieds for sale if you want to check them out.
